The 007 marathon: Casino Royale

Two words: "Thumbs up!" Coba007 (Cô Ba 'double oh seven') likes double/secret agents, particularly James Bond's -- cool gadgets and awesome adventures. Brother in Black and I went to see this flick. I loved Casino Royale. I think it's the best Bond 007 film yet. The film did a great job rebooting the 007 franchise. Daniel Craig is surprisingly good. He doesn't look like anyone's idea of James Bond (looks and all), but he plays the character very well. If you haven't seen the movie, I won't spoil the fun. If you like Star Wars, Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones, and the adventurous flicks, you'll like Casino Royale. If you're seeking for realism, this film is not for you. One thing that stood out about 007 films is the witty repartee in the dialogue. I laughed and enjoyed this movie:
Vesper Lynd: Am I going to have a problem with you, Bond?
James Bond: No, don't worry. You're not my type.
Vesper Lynd: Smart?
James Bond: Married.
And when a bartender ask if if he wants his martini shaken or stirred, 007 allegedly responds "why the hell should I care?" Haha. Anyhow, the writing and direction are excellent. Very good panache and concept. A good Saturday night movies at the theatre.

One more: "Drat! The bastards got me!!" Tee hehe.

World AIDS Day (cross blogging)

This year’s theme for World AIDS Day is Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise: Accountability. It is dedicated to raise awareness of the AIDS pandemic and to remind world leaders for their promises in the fight against AIDS. U2Lorax has some useful links for you to take some actions. For Vietnam, I’m only aware of UNAIDS organization that coordinate HIV/AIDS-related activities. Worldwide, there are about 38.6 million people living with Aids this year (BBC). The United States has the ABC Approach that lower the risk of acquiring AIDS during sex:

Abstinence or delay of sexual activity, especially for youth,
Being faithful, especially for those in committed relationships,
Condom use, for those who engage in risky behavior. >
I’d like to emphasize "B" again: Being tested for HIV and being faithful in marriage and monogamous relationships. As for sexual transmission and prevention against HIV, my only comment is for the men. Please use water-based lubricant condoms AND buy new packs of latex for when the condoms have expired! Latex breaks over time, and it is useless unless you check the expiration date. Don’t forget to donate and take action!
